Day 89

What? Over 500 hits on my blog? Woot woot!
Here are some other things to celebrate today:

1. It's my Dad's birthday, he's basically the coolest

2. Found out baby #6 for my side of the family is going to be a boy, which means he'll probably look like this handsome devil

3. I'm writing this as I take a break from packing for St. George. Eric is running his first half marathon on Saturday so we're heading down tomorrow. Shout out to a half day of work!

4. I got a gift card and sweet "congratulations" card from Eric's grandparents who are on a mission. They are two of the nicest people on this earth and their card was so thoughtful. Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Bowcut!

5. Finally, Eric has decided to go to school at the DATC in Kaysville so those in Kaysville, look out! We're headed your way in a few months to settle in for awhile. Feel free to keep a watchful eye for any available apartments.

Cheers.

Day 87

These are from the Bees game last Friday.
It was pretty fun, even if people kept making fun of me for all my dance moves.

I'm on the final downward hill to graduation. Today went by so slow so I can only imagine how the next few days are going to be. I have a final tomorrow for my Business English class that's worth 250 points. To say I'm nervous is an understatement.

But, on the good side, one of my final papers was cancelled! Can you believe it? I am over the moon. After tomorrow I will have only one more paper to write and then I should be good to go.

I felt like I would have so much more time on my hands once school started to wind down. I've been wrong which I don't know is good or bad.

Day 81

This is just a fun post because I find these following items very funny:

And then this is a conversation that Eric and I had the other night:

Me: (finished reading and turned off my book light)
Eric: Are you still awake?
Me: Yeah
Eric: How come things keep showing up on my nightstand?
Me: What do you mean?
Eric: Things keep showing up on my nightstand and I don't know where they come from
Me: Well, I haven't been putting anything there. What kind of things show up?
Eric: Random things, like the other night there was a jar of M&Ms.
Me: (pause)
Me: Are you sleeping right now?
Eric: No
Me: Are you sure? Because you just told me that a jar of M&Ms randomly appeared on your nightstand.
Eric: Oh, maybe I am half asleep.

Then there was silence.
He has no memory of telling me this.

Day 79

Few things to be excited about today:

1. I worked out and I made it my own so it was actually fun! It was part Just Dance, part P90X, part weight lifting, and then some Ab Ripper X. 1 hour later I was feeling great and I think I'll be sore tomorrow so I feel that it is a good sign.

2. The husband made an appointment to meet with someone at the DATC in Kaysville for a campus tour to get more information. I am beyond excited and can't wait to go with him. I am really, really hoping that this lady sweet talks him. Not in the romantic way, but in the "you really need to come to our school" way. If he gets a good feeling from this walk through, I think our future will be looking sunny and bright. Please for the love send us good fortune.

3. Have I mentioned that Wednesday night is my last night class?

4. Eric put a roast in the crock pot so I've had to do nothing for dinner. It's been fabulous and we'll have leftovers for tomorrow. Even better.

5. And just because I like ending on #5, a little boy held my hand at the after-school program while walking down the hall. It made my day.

Day 78

We have a new neighbor below us. He smokes. I no longer can keep my window open because instead of smelling fresh air, I get cigarette air. Sigh. It was nice while it lasted. I guess I better shut the door before it gets too strong.

We started practicing our song in Primary for Mother's Day. The kids sing so well but I'm a little bit weary about the whole Mother's Day thing. I know Eric will be working that Sunday so having to help sing a Mother's Day song while then sitting by myself just doesn't sound too nice right now. I can't wait for the day when my husband gets to come back to church with me.

Have you noticed my countdown on the sidebar? We're under 20 days people. 20 days! This coming Wednesday will be the last night class of the semester. I'm hoping I can convince my friend in that class to go out to dinner next week to celebrate.

I went to a wedding reception Friday night. Since it was Friday the 13th, the theme was black and white with many "bad luck" omens present. You had to walk under a ladder, there were open umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, broken mirrors, and my favorite, a black kitten. For throwing it together in under a week, it was pretty creative. Probably not something I would do, but hey, they were happy.

We're now off to go eat dinner and watch The Celebrity Apprentice. It's what I look forward to every Sunday evening.

Day 76

Yikes. I missed 10 days. Here's what's been happening in our part of town

I finished 1 of my 5 classes early (which has been awesome) and ended with a 97%. I'm on a good start to hopefully getting a 4.0 this semester.

We celebrated Easter by going to an Easter egg hunt/BBQ on Saturday and then Sunday dinner at the in-laws that included watching The Celebrity Apprentice

I love these pictures of my 2 brothers and their families. Both are expecting new additions at the end of summer - I can't wait!

I finished getting my graduation announcements ready and sent them out. Also found out that the hotel room we're staying in for graduation weekend has a fireplace. It's going to be awesome

Then this little number arrived in the mail today with our confirmation paperwork, STRIVE bracelets, and my favorite, ticket holders to wear around our neck.

I also made a reservation at the Blue Bayou for lunch during one of the days we're in Disneyland. Hopefully we can decide on something to share.... that might take a miracle.

Day 66

Well, Disneyland is booked. Hotel, tickets, flight, now we have to find a way to get from the airport to the hotel. Do we rent a car? Do we catch a taxi? I found out our hotel doesn't have a shuttle so that's a bummer but the hotel is across the street from Disneyland so that will be really nice.

The flower blossoms are from the tree right in front of our apartment. I love how pretty it is but I hate how stinky it is.

Below is a candle warmer disaster.
Here is the culprit. All I did was turn the switch to the "on" position.

An hour or so later, I walked back into the kitchen to see this....

I don't know how it exploded, or how it exploded so high.  I had to stand on a stool to get the wax off the top of my cupboards.

You win this round candle warmer, but it isn't over.

Day 65

Well guys, I did it. I taught a class, full of teen moms, and it went great. Well, kind of. The kids were so nice and were pretty responsive during some segments but afterwards they all said how great I did and that I was one of the better presenters they had.

The downfall is that the teacher of the class, so the one who filled out my evaluation form, had comments that irked me. For example, she said I needed more class involvement. Here's the thing. I asked the class for participation at the very beginning of the class. I then had many times where I would ask for their comments/answers to questions but they were timid. There were a couple of kids who commented but if the class is silent for over 30 seconds shouldn't I move on instead of just stand there and wait? Alright I know I'm being nit-picky but it was a slight deflation to read the comments after feeling like I did a great job. Oh well, it's done with and I can now move on to the paper and be done with the class. Hooray!

Want to know what made my day better today? This. Specifically the video that accompanies the Disneyland post. I think whenever I have video clips I'm just going to pass them on to my little sister to compile. She's amazing at that kind of stuff. So Em, get prepared to make my Disneyland video next month.

I came across this story today while browsing my blogs. It's actually from one of the blogs on my sidebar, the Sullengers. It's extremely tragic but definitely puts life into perspective. I will be praying for this beautiful woman for peace and comfort and giving Eric an extra hug tonight.

Day 64

What did you do during General Conference while listening?
I got my hair curled (still haven't mastered curling it on my own)

Thanks again sister.
